MediaFrame support

MediaFrame support

MediaFrame is generally considered to be very easy to use. However, if you are new to streaming media in general, all the different options and features can be confusing. In order to make the use of MediaFrame as easy as possible, we have created a detailed user manual. If you still have questions after reading the manual, you can use our forum. Before you post your question in the forum you might also want to read the FAQ, which contains answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Because MediaFrame is open-source and available for free, we do not have a staff handling support requests. All work on MediaFrame and support is done by volunteers who don't get paid for their work. Because the volunteers and developers offer support in their own free time, reponse time to questions may vary from 15 minutes to 15 days. Please be patient, we read every question and will try to give you an answer as soon as possible.

In many cases the fastest way to get support is to do some research before asking questions.

Some rules for using our forums

Because MediaFrame is open source software the support is handled by the projects developers and other volunteers. Please realise that these individuals try to help in their own free time and do not get any compensation for it. The time that is spent on this forum is time not spent on the development of the software. Because of this we have decided to make some rules which should help to make things run more smoothly:

  • It can vary between 15 minutes and 15 days before somebody replies; please be patient. Do not ask why nobody has answered your question yet. We read every question and will reply as soon as we have the time to do so.
  • Before posting a question please make sure that the answer can't be found in the manual or the FAQ. Also use the Search function to look for answers to similar questions. Questions which are too obvious will probably be ignored or replied to with only 'read the manual' or 'read chapter xxxx'.
  • If you have a problem, please describe it as clearly and in as much detail as possible. One line questions are almost never sufficient to get an useful answer. Also describe what you have already tried to solve the problem and what the results were. Please do not forget to tell us which version of MediaFrame you are using.
  • Do not ask the same question in multiple forums. If you decide to ignore this, the question will probably be removed from ALL forums.
  • Please post your question in the appropriate forum. Support requests should only be posted in the Mpeg-1 and Mpeg-4 support forums. Feature requests should be posted in the Mpeg-1 and the Mpeg-4 feature requests forums.
  • Please do not contact the developers directly by e-mail or ICQ, unless you are requested to do so.
  • The developers of MediaFrame speak English, so please ask your questions in english only.
