MediaFrame technology showcase

MediaFrame technology showcase

These demonstrations present MediaFrame as it currently stands. The software is feature complete for Mpeg-1 and in Beta testing for Mpeg-4.

You should be aware that most demos are optimised for broadband users; they will not work effectively for anyone on less than 512Kbps line. That said the technology can detect a users connection speed and optimise the media stream accordingly, a feature that will be showcased at a later stage.

MediaFrame for Mpeg-1

This was the first version of MediaFrame and is the most complete of the two versions available. Work started on the technology in 2000 and our development schedule has seen an average of one release a month ever since. MediaFrame for Mpeg-1 is feature complete and fully documented.

MediaFrame for Mpeg-4

Mpeg-4 offers a range of benefits over Mpeg-1, including the ability to get the length and play time of a video file (a feature sorely missing from the Mpeg-1 specification). This demo includes some of these features along with a base implementation of the technologies JavaScript API.

Get involved!

We really want to build on this showcase to offer a wide range of demonstrations, ideally in the mould of Apples QuickTime site. However for this to happen we need you to volunteer a couple of hours of your time to produce a demo for the project.

If you'd like to help out on this front, please enocde, test and build the supproting HTML page using the latest release of either MediaFrame for Mpeg-1 or MediaFrame for Mpeg-4 and then email it to us directly at .
